Entertainment Assistant (173740-086)

Under general guidance of the Entertainment & Attractions Supervisor & the Creative Attractions Supervisor, the Entertainment Assistant is responsible for assisting in pre-Fair set up and assisting with additional projects and Fair day-to-day activities.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Assisting in all pre-Fair set up for the Entertainment Department
Setting up, maintaining, and cleaning dressing rooms for the entertainers
Delivering water to the dressing rooms and keeping water stocked at all times
Helping to coordinate and oversee the daily Fair Parades and the High School Marching Band Parade Competition
Helping to supervise and assist mascots, marching band judges, stage managers, and other Entertainment related personnel
Helping to coordinate and oversee Fair-time special events
Carting entertainment acts for move-in and move-out
Delivering paychecks to performers
Collecting merchandising gross sales reports and merchandise sales payments
Assisting in handling all Entertainment Department related issues
Evaluating entertainment and submits a Performer Analysis Report for each evaluated performer
Assisting in taking photos of entertainment, special events, and other related entertainment items for documentation purposes
Overseeing and ensuring overall cleanliness of grounds and reports any maintenance problems to Facilities
Submitting a written evaluation of the Fair and experience as the Entertainment Assistant to be used for future planning of the Fair
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Must be well organized and detail oriented
Must have good communication skills
Physical Requirements of Job:
Valid California Driver License and a clean driving record
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions
Must be able to move around fairgrounds
Must have reliable private transportation
Ability to communicate on a short wave radio
Ability to walk 12 ? 14 hours a day
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
Ability to see and hear entertainment acts
Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day
Must be available to work every day of the Fair

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
