Sponsorship Specialist (173758-086)

Responsible for prospecting for the sponsorship sales staff, as well as coordinating all activation and operational elements related to sponsorship programs. Perform a broad range of sales-related and administrative duties for the Sponsorship Sales team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Provides research assistance identifying trends and seeking out the appropriate corporate contacts for the Account Executives to follow-up on. Enters Sponsorship sales leads into and maintains sales contact database.
While mining categories and seeking out the appropriate contacts, provide Foundation contact information to Fairplex's Foundation, The Learning Centers at Fairplex.
Provides support as needed to ensure that the Account Executive stays focused on actively selling Fairplex's on and off-site sponsored events.
Responsible for attaining the annual sponsorship revenue goal for Kaboom! which is primarily driven by vendor support.
Oversees all activation and operational aspects of Fairplex sponsorship programs.
Reviews and thoroughly digests all sponsorship contracts and ensures that all contractual obligations are met in a timely manner.
Prepares copies of executed sponsorship sales contracts for staff.
Responsible for the design, execution and completion of the sponsorship fulfillment reports; finalized within 30 days after the completion of each sponsored event.
Prepares all necessary communication tools for the Sponsorship sales team including, but not limited to, letters, email correspondence, reports, time lines, proposals, presentations and the Partner Manual.
Performs a broad range of administrative duties for the Sponsorship sales team including, but not limited to, updating mailing lists within the EBMS sales data base, scheduling meetings and filing.
Prepares purchase orders, work orders, and check requests and processes items for the accounting department as it relates to the Sponsorship Sales team.
Invoices, collects, processes and tracks all sponsorship payments and certificates of insurance; make courtesy reminder calls on upcoming payments 30 days prior to due date.
Overall responsible for the creation, accuracy, and distribution of sponsorship sales reports, schedules, and other related spreadsheets.
Proactively develops and maintains sales tools (collateral/brochures, sales library, electronic photo gallery, etc.)
Acts as liaison for the Sponsorship sales team with MARCOM on implementation of sponsor-related marketing and promotional elements. In addition, work with the Creative team to ensure that all sponsor-related creative programming elements are implemented.
Working with MARCOM, creates standard presentations and sales materials for each of Fairplex's sponsored events.
Ensure that all sponsor-related elements on Fairplex's websites are up-to-date and contain appropriate communication and forms for sponsors.
Acts as key contact for all sponsors prior to and during Fairplex's on and-off site sponsored events, including coordination for set-up and tear-down.
Attend all sponsorship-related internal planning meetings.
Represent the L.A. County Fair and Fairplex in a professional manner at all times.
Act as back up for Sales Office Administrator.
Required Skills
Four-year degree at an accredited college or university and a minimum 3 to 5 years of proven sales experience in the sponsorship industry is preferred. Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Strong computer skills and experience with sales related software packages preferred (Power Point, Publisher, etc.). Must have the ability to analyze current market trends, research appropriate business opportunities and pass on leads. Must possess the ability to adjust sales support efforts as the workload demands. The ability to work in a team environment focusing on the overall success of the sales department. Must be detail and deadline oriented and be able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment. Must possess exceptional customer relations skills and telephone etiquette. Requires the ability to work weekends, some evenings and most days of the Fair.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
