Job Description:
Lean Construction Specialist are required to use Lean Six Sigma tools and Methodologies (such as VSM, 5S, Waste Identification, DMAIC, DMADV, PDCA, etc.) to drive change within their assigned business lines and regions. As a member of the Lean Construction team, Lean Construction Specialist will also be responsible for educating, promoting, and building the culture of continuous improvement company wide.
Job Location:
West Region: Pomona, CA
Travel: Anticipated travel is 50-75%. Travel percentage could be less/greater depending on primary work location, the assigned region, business line, and current construction projects.
Note: H&M Shared Services, Inc. does not have an internal Lean Six Sigma certification program. Candidates for this position will report to the Director of Lean Construction (an ASQ Certified MBB), who will coach and mentor interested individuals to help them achieve ASQ certification if desired. Advanced knowledge of statistical tools and analysis is NOT a requirement for this position.
Major Job Elements
Facilitate Lean training as required in the home office and at site locations
Work closely with assigned business lines and regions to identify improvement opportunities for reducing cost, improving efficiency and productivity
Collect and Analyze data to support business decisions
Deploy Process Management Systems on key processes and monitor upstream indicators and output KPIs
Conduct time and motion studies to identify waste and potential improvement opportunities
Lead Kaizen workshops to eliminate waste and optimize process flow
Ensure Lean projects are aligned with high level organizational objectives and goals
Lead, Monitor, and Report out status of all Lean projects/activities in their Pipeline for assigned business lines and regions
Document Lessons Learned and ensure best practices are incorporated into formal business processes/procedures
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
Utility Infrastructure (UI) industry segment work experience is preferred
Minimum of 3 years experience in the construction industry is preferred
Lean Six Sigma Certification at the Green Belt Level or Higher preferred
Work experience in construction supervision look-ahead planning preferred
Demonstrated success driving organizational change supported by a portfolio of completed Lean Six Sigma project examples

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
